PeachFuzz Laser Studio, a Black-owned business founded by sisters Keisha and Kristin Wagner, specializes in laser hair removal for melanated skin. After launching in Brooklyn in 2020, they recently expanded to Valley Stream, NY, with plans for national growth.

“The truth is that there are many financial, educational, and systemic barriers. Medical school is expensive, and many Black students don’t have the same generational wealth or networks to make it easier,” says Keisha Wagner-Gaymon, a Nurse Practitioner and CEO of Peachfuzz Laser and Fuzz Clinic Skincare.

Lasers can burn if you don't go to the right place, but Fox 5 found the right place in Brooklyn, PeachFuzz Skin Studio.

Over the past five years, sisters Keisha Wagner-Gaymon and Kristin Wagner have built PeachFuzz Skin Studio into a trusted space for laser hair removal and skincare. Now, with a second location in Valley Stream, they’re expanding their mission to serve more clients across Long Island.

Keisha Wagner-Gaymon, a board-certified Nurse Practitioner and the owner of PeachFuzz Laser Studio in Brooklyn, told "Nightline" that she focuses on getting people with darker skin closer to their hair removal goals.

Over the past two years of owning and operating PeachFuzz Laser Studio in the heart of Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn, N.Y., Keisha Wagner-Gaymon, founder of the successful laser studio wanted to offer her clients more after receiving their services.

"Peach fuzz," "whiskers" — whatever you call it, facial hair is a normal occurrence for women, particularly those with hormonal conditions like Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) or high levels of androgens like testosterone. Still, its very existence (and even the maintenance of it) remains a taboo topic. The owners of Brooklyn-based PeachFuzz Laser Studio want to change that.

It is not easy to find laser hair removal that you can trust, no matter what the color of your skin. For women of color, it can be particularly difficult, and that is where PeachFuzz Laser Studio Founder, Keisha Wagner-Gaymon saw a need.

They say necessity is the mother of invention. For Brooklyn resident Keisha Wagner-Gaymon, her need for hair removal services that catered to Black women sparked a business idea.
